INK & TONER CARTRIDGES: Empty or old ink and toner printer cartridges can be recycled by taking these items to the TeleCentre or the Post Office, Wolfram Street, Westonia. MOBILE TELEPHONES: Old mobile telephones, mobile phone batteries, and hard plastic associated items can be recycled at the Shire office, Wolfram Street, Westonia. WASTE OIL: Waste Oil Collection Facility is located at the Westonia Waste Management Facility (Landfill Site), Leach Road, Westonia. Open 24 hours every day. Only waste vehicle lubricating oil is to be put into the facility – not cooking oil, grease, or other waste products. Local residents and businesses, including farmers, may empty quantities of up to 20 litres of motor oil into the facility tank, or they can leave full 200lt drums of oil on the concrete apron next to the holding tank ready for emptying. Farmers with 1,000lts or more on their property may contact the waste oil recyclers direct to organise an on-farm collection.
