* From time to time, Huon Valley Council conducts motor vehicle and scrap metal amnesty weekends, whereby Huon Valley residents are able to safely dispose of old motor vehicle bodies and other scrap metal at Southbridge Waste Transfer Station at no cost. These weekends are advertised in the local press and on the Huon Valley Council website. * Residents whose houses are situated a long way from the road may purchase a 'wheelie bin hitch' to attach to their vehicle in order to tow their wheelie bin to the road.
