Mobile Phone Recycling Mobile phones and their batteries can cause significant environmental problems if disposed of to landfill. As part of the Clean Up Mobile Phones campaign, run by Clean Up Australia, unused mobile phones can now be dropped off at all Council libraries and at Canada Bay Civic Centre Drummoyne – 1a Marlborough Street Drummoyne 2047. This amounts to over 5,000 tonnes of material that will eventually end up in landfill. Placing old printer cartridges into landfill can cause problems for the environment.
