Hazardous Household Waste Collection Days
The EPA and Zero Waste SA provide a service for the collection of hazardous household wastes and farm chemicals at a depot operated at Dry Creek. The normal operating hours of this depot are between 9.00am and 12 noon on the first Tuesday of the month. However two additional openings of the depot have been arranged, these are:
Sunday 10th September 2006 Open 9.00am - 3.00pm
Saturday 18th November 2006 Open 9.00am - 3.00pm
The Light Regional Council is also holding two hazardous chemical collection days on:
Monday 25th September in Kapunda at Hampel's depot - Lot 17 Mellor Place in the industrial park off Perry Road
Tuesday 26th September in Freeling at the Council Work depot in Stephenson Street - behind the Gungellan Hotel.
The following items will be accepted at the chemical collection days:
Pesticides/insecticides/herbicides
Solvents and thinners
Acids and alkalis
Paints/varnishes/stains
Waste oil
Pharmaceuticals
Pool chemicals
Batteries
