Recycling Tips

Recycle Right - Contamination occurs when the wrong items are put in the recycling bin (bin with yellow lid). This may include food or garden waste, nappies or ceramic cups. These items CANNOT be recycled through this service. A good rule is: “If in doubt - leave it out!” The City of Whittlesea conducts a Bin Inspection Program, where the contents of recycling bins are regularly checked. Contamination increases the costs of sorting recyclables and in some cases can lead to serious health and safety concerns. For further information visit www.whittlesea.vic.gov.au
