Events & Notices

The City of Melton runs a weekly waste collection and an alternate recyclables and green waste (opt in) kerbside service. New residents can find out more with our online Waste Services Guide. There are also several ways to responsibly dispose of other kinds of waste. MELTON RECYCLING FACILITY at 33 Ferris Rd, Cobblebank (formerly Melton South)... it's your one-stop service centre! - THE RESALE SHOP Residents are invited to drop off unwanted, re-sellable goods to the Resale Shop on site. You could save yourself money on transfer station fees. It's also a great place to find a bargain! - TRANSFER STATION Residents can dispose of listed accepted items for recycling or landfill (as a last resort) at the transfer station, either by using council rates vouchers or by paying the relevant gate fee. DID YOU KNOW? All electronic goods including TVs and computers may be dropped off for free. Household quantities of paint, batteries, CFL light globes/tubes and BBQ gas cylinders may also be dropped off for free. Chemicals must be taken to mobile DETOX YOUR HOME events that take place around Victoria throughout each year. Refer to sustainability.vic.gov.au for details and registration. Related services offered by Melton City Council: PUBLIC PLACE RECYCLING Our council has been committed to providing public place recycling in combination with waste disposal facilities since 2006 and continues to evolve with the City's growth. Council also offers school support: RESOURCE SMART SCHOOLS This program supports schools to gain recognition for sustainable behaviours. The framework aims to help Victorian schools minimise waste, save energy and water, promote biodiversity, and cut their greenhouse gas emissions.
